History
Sotra has long traditions in fisheries. In the 19th century and the first half of the 20th century, small farming and fishing were important industries.
Fishing is still important, but today many people work in the oil and gas industry. Many people living at Sotra commute to Bergen for their work. There are still active fishermen who make a living from fishing on Sotra
Location
The fishing takes place on the west side of Sotra; with the ocean close by. We go offshore if the weather is on our side.
If the conditions are too tough, we stay onshore. We place a high value on security, so no risks are taken.
